Following your Vaser procedure, it is crucial to your healing and results to wear your supplied compression garment (and 4d Vest if applicable). Surgeons/nurses will inform you on an individual basis the length of time that you must wear the garment for (up to 4weeks). The garment will help you return to daily life sooner by reducing swelling, improving circulation and providing support. Leaking can be expected for the first 24-48 hours and the leaking liquid will be light pink/orange or clear colour.

If you continue to feel faint for a long period of time after originally removing the garment then get in contact with your surgeon or GP for further advice. Stock up on old sheets and mattress protectors to allow for any leaking during the first couple of days post-procedure. Leaking is normal and expected for 24-48hrs after vaser lipo, the liquid will be a light orange/pink colour and is good for recovery as it is better for it to be out, rather than inside you causing unnecessary swelling.
Stick to dark and loose clothing for the first few days to feel more comfortable and any leakage is more obvious on light clothing. Drinking plenty of water with fresh lemon will help eliminate the toxins from your body and help reduce swelling. Think about healthy food choices to help maintain a healthy BMI - plenty of fruit, veg and protein is a must! Bloating/ Constipation is normal following the days of your procedure and this can be made worse from the medication supplied by the clinical team the day of your procedure.
TIP: Wear loose dark clothing for the first couple of days as any leaking will be less noticeable especially if you decide to go out and about. You find yourself bruising and swelling in areas that were not treated, this is normal. As swelling starts to resolve it can often settle in the lower part of your body such as your knees, ankles and in some cases your genital area.
The second graph illustrates the cumulative percentage of patients recovering from swelling after Vaser lipo. It shows that half our patients need 14 days to recover from swelling, and that 90% of our patients have recovered from swelling after 24 days. That's to say that 13 of the 129 patients from this sample required more than three and a half weeks before swelling subsided. This shows that a significant number of patients will have long swelling after their operations.
